On Wednesday, January 28, 2015, The Texas Tribune published an article titled Demographics of Texas' Undocumented Population.

As we all know, our state struggles with illegal immigration. In fact, we have the second largest undocumented immigrant population of about 1.5 million people. About 15% have been here for over 20 years. Most illegal immigrants, 58%, are born in Mexico and cross the border. The other 42% are born here, thus making them "american citizens" as said in the 14th amendment. But annually there are about 60,000 babies that are born that earn U.S. citizenship. That makes up 16% of total births statewide. The next 10 years will be an even more trans formative decade demographically for Texas if we do not change the 14th amendment.
